Restaurant Review – Le Tournesol
This is a
great little restaurant that we happened upon when we went to see the cathedral
in Albi. We had actually gone into
another restaurant nearby to find out if they had anything vegetarian on offer,
and were given directions to Le Tournesol
(the sunflower) from the extremely helpful owner.
Fittingly
located just off la Place du Vigan, Le Tournesol is just a few
minutes walk from the center of the city, and has vegetarian, vegan, and gluten
free options available. The menu has
several daily dishes on it, which encompass a full meal, and a very filling one
at that! We ate lunch at 2pm, and never
needed dinner!
The three
of us shared three different dishes, so I can confidently say that the falafel
and hummus with quinoa and bulgur salad was excellent, as was the
zucchini/courgette tarte salée, and
the fromage brebis (sheep’s cheese)
with corn galette was so tasty that upon returning to Toulouse we immediately
went out and bought mi-brebis (a cheese
made from half sheep and half cow’s milk).
We didn’t
have any dessert, so I can’t say much on that, but it certainly looked tasty!
Anyway, if
you’re in Albi, this place is definitely worth checking out…sorry I don’t have
any photos, but I was just too hungry to think about anything else…
